I thought the cake would be similar to a quickbread -- e.g., banana nut bread -- made with pineapples and macadamia nuts instead of bananas and nuts. I was disappointed to discover that the texture, taste, and sweetness was that of a fruitcake.
In retrospect, from the name ("cake") and the photo, I should have realized.
As to flavor, the pineapples, as is typical of the fruit in fruitcakes, were candied to the point that you couldn't tell what kind of fruit it was and I think that macadamia nuts are too mild in flavor to be in such a heavy cake. Walnuts would have been a better choice.

This tastes great with tea, but I didn't find myself dreaming of a second piece. In fact, I've put the remainder well-wrapped in the freezer in case I get the urge. It's been there about a month. You make the call.

The macadamia pineapple cake had only positive accolates and was described as scrumptuous. My nephew was debating whether or not to share it with his roommates, as it was so good. It was moist and different and succulently a taste delight. It had a wonderful combination of ingredients. It is a "wowsa" cake worthy of queens and kings !!!!! It is that good.

Great cake for coconut and pineapple taste, but not macadamia nut taste. I bought 2 for gifts and one for me. They both thanked me for the pineapple cake, and I did not mention that it was to be macadamia taste also.
So disappointing....

The taste of the cake was good, but size is to small for the price. There needs to be more product given for the pice charged. I was so dissapointed when I opened the cake, I felt cheated.

The loaf was very dense which meant it was small in size. It was not my favorite Harry and David purchase-normally they are wonderful treats!

This cake had good flavor and plenty of pineapple bits throughout, but I didn't notice that many nuts in it. But the main point was that it was a bit too gooey and fell apart when I was cutting a piece.

Was looking forward to this item when ordering. After I sliced and tasted the cake, I was somewhat disappointed. It had a very old favor. Tried heating it and it helped a little. Gave it a shot...would not reorder. Although I loved the fruit and berry bread.

I bought 2 of these cakes, one for my mother and another for my aunt. Absolutely loved them. Moist and flavorful. Cannot say enough about these cakes. Will purchase again and can't wait to try your fruitcake. I would buy one now if you sold it all year round. Wish I could rate you at TEN!!!!!
